Besides the scenic Shirarahama you can see right from our resort, there is a huge number of hotspots within reach in just 10-mins drive. Heading out with a car and go a bit further you may also reach the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage and Mount Koyasan. Have a wonder time in your stay at Shirahama with your important ones.
A popular theme park where visitors can enjoy encounters with red pandas. Visitors can watch the adorable red pandas with fluffy fur and dull eyes as they eat bamboo and relax in the trees. The park also has an amusement park with thrilling attractions, Marine World, and Safari World, and is loved by visitors of all ages.
As the name "Shirarahama" suggests, it is beautiful beach filled with pure white quartz sand with 90% silicic acid. The 640 meters long beach is partnered with the famous Waikiki Beach to create the feel of a southern tropical resort. Annual events such as candle illumination and fireworks are also inimitable. It’s a representative hotspot of Shirahama.
“Spa Dive” is a diving and snorkeling school in Nanki Shirahama, Wakayama. Thanks to the Kuroshio and the warm climate that divers are able to swim with tropical fishes throughout the year! Join the workshops and sooth your spirit by having a relaxing walk in the beach. You will love it.
Historic huge trees and paving made Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage a tasteful spot to visit. It’s the approach to the three religious mountains in Kumano, and now designated as a world heritage as “a holy spot and a pilgrimage route in Kii Mountains”. It’s getting more and more popular as a spiritual spot in Japan. Similar to the ancient Kumano Kodo built in the Heian period, the Miyuki water source of our resort was discovered in Heian period as well. Sooth your body and spirit in our hot springs, and head to Kumano for prayers, like the nobles of the old times.
The head temple of Shingon, one of the major schools of Buddhism in Japan, is at Mount Koyasan. It’s believed that the founder had his austere training here. Highlights include paintings of Kano Tanyu. It is designated as a world heritage as a "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountains"
